This set is in extremely good condition. Each of the main flatware pieces bear the hallmark of the French Government's "Head of the Minerva - 1" Hallmark, certifying a minimum of 950 sterling silver in addition to the Tetard Frères sterling silver manufacturer's hallmark. The Mother of Pearl handled dessert knives bears the French Government's Head of the Minerva 2 hallmark in addition to the "G.P." manufacturer's hallmark. There are no monograms on any of the pieces. Renowned in the 19th and 20th centuries, the House of Tetard operated at 4 rue Beranger in the Marais district of Paris between 1881 and 1978. The house reached its peak at the Colonial Exhibition of 1931 where it won 10 medals for their amazing sterling silver and vermeil creations.
