Since its inception in 1820, Puiforcat has not only maintained its commitment to excellence but has also evolved to embody innovative design while preserving traditional craftsmanship.

The legacy of Puiforcat, founded by Emile Puiforcat in Paris, extends over two centuries, during which it has become synonymous with the highest standards of silver-smithing. The brand's evolution, marked by artistic excellence and innovative designs, has positioned it as a beacon in the luxury goods market. Puiforcat’s heritage is deeply rooted in a tradition of meticulous craftsmanship and artistic innovation. The early years of Puiforcat saw the crafting of predominantly flatware and some hollow-ware, with each piece showcasing hand-finished details that have become rare in the modern era. Techniques such as hand-hammering, engraving, and chasing are hallmarks of Puiforcat’s approach, requiring hours of labor from skilled artisans. This commitment to craftsmanship not only defines the quality of their products but also sets them apart in an era of mass production.

Recognition through awards and participation in international expositions has been a critical aspect of Puiforcat's history. The firm's excellence was frequently acknowledged at events such as the Paris Exposition Universelle, where it garnered accolades that reinforced its reputation for quality and design superiority. These accolades have not only validated Puiforcat’s artisanal skills but also helped position it within an elite circle of luxury brands globally.  The patronage of royalty and the aristocracy has provided Puiforcat with an illustrious clientele that has bolstered its brand image. Commissioned pieces for European royal families and bespoke items for global leaders underscore Puiforcat's appeal among those with discerning tastes. This segment of their clientele not only underscores the exclusivity of the brand but also its capacity to meet the most exacting standards of aesthetics and craftsmanship.

The acquisition by the Hermès Group in 1993 marked a pivotal expansion of Puiforcat’s capabilities and its international reach. Hermès, known for its luxury products and meticulous quality, provided Puiforcat with enhanced distribution networks, greater financial stability, and an alignment with a broader luxury philosophy that emphasizes heritage, craftsmanship, and exclusivity. This integration has allowed Puiforcat to innovate while staying true to its core values.

Among the standout offerings from Puiforcat are its 950 sterling silver serving platters, which exceed the standard 925 sterling content, as evidenced by this amazing 2-piece set.  This choice reflects the firm’s dedication to superior quality and longevity. These platters are not only functional items but are also considered works of art, showcasing their elaborate designs. These platters represent a confluence of utility and luxury, making them highly coveted items in the realms of fine dining and elite gatherings.
