The Aucoc firm was founded in 1821 by Casimir Aucoc and in 1835 relocated to the prestigious Rue de la Paix in Paris. The firm regularly collaborated with Christofle and Bon-Taburet, one of the most innovative goldsmiths from the late 19th century and early 20th century. Known for their unique and luxurious styles and craftsmanship the Aucoc firm received numerous medals of recognition from several international exhibitions. Notable clients included King Louis-Phillippe of France, the Duke of Orleans, Napoleon III and his wife Princess Eugenie as well as Queen Victoria of England.
This 3pc. set in extremely good condition. Each piece bears the hallmark of the French Government's "Head of the Minerva - 1" Hallmark, certifying a minimum of 950 sterling silver in addition to the manufacturer's sterling silver hallmark; ie. Aucoc. The piece is in "near new" condition. The piece measures roughly 27cm. in length, 19cm. across at its widest point is 12.50cm. high and weights 1,272 grams in total. Without the interior the pieces weight 880 grams.
