Direct from a Private Chateau near Paris, A Magnificent Louis XVI Sterling Silver Serving Dish by "A. Aucoc" Silversmith to the Kings and Queens of Europe, Includes its Own Anti-Tarnish Storage Wrap for Easy Storage, NO MONOGRAMS - You Can't Go Wrong Buying Quality, Circa 1890s. Privately Commissioned, This Beautifully Elegant Serving Dish has been Hand Crafted in 950 Sterling Silver to the Highest of International Standards, Internationally Known Brand, Recognizable Quality, The Essence of a Sophisticated Lifestyle. This magnificent piece measures approximately 28.00 cm. in diameter and weights 725 grams. It is stamped on the underside "Aucoc Aine" and bears the French government's Head of the Minerva 1 hallmark certifying a minimum of 950 sterling silver as well as the "A. Aucoc" manufacturer's sterling silver hallmark. It is in near new condition and comes with its own anti-tarnish storage wrap for easy storage. The Aucoc firm was founded in 1821 by Casimir Aucoc and in 1835 relocated to the prestigious Rue de la Paix in Paris. The firm regularly collaborated with Christofle and Bon-Taburet, one of the most innovative goldsmiths from the late 19th century and early 20th century. Known for their unique and luxurious styles and craftsmanship the firm received numerous medals of recognition from several international exhibitions. Notable clients included King Louis-Phillippe of France, the Duke of Orleans, Napoleon III and his wife Princess Eugenie as well as Queen Victoria of England.
